Bone density measurement is the most important method for identification of osteoporosis, which occurs frequently in middle and old age, especially in women. Undetected osteoporosis can lead to bone fractures, either spontaneously or as a result of minor accidents.
For the diagnosis we use X-ray equipment which has been developed exclusively for this examination (DXA method).
The therapy recommendations of the Osteological Societies are based on clinical symptoms, blood count and bone density measurements using DXA.
This gives you the following benefits:
Bone density measurements are only paid for by statutory health insurance providers if a vertebral fracture has already occurred due to osteoporosis.
We offer you the examination as an IGEL service (privately payable service). However, before this, it is advisable to discuss the indication with your doctor.
No special preparations are required for the consultation. Please bring the results of previous preliminary examinations with you, to enable an evaluation of progress. We archive preliminary examinations for at least 10 years.
