Cardiovascular imaging

We offer this service at the following locations:

Coronary heart disease (CHD) leads to a slowly progressing narrowing of the coronary arteries and to an insufficient supply of oxygen to the heart muscle.  The disease and its consequences (heart attack, heart failure) are the main causes of death in the western world.

Structural heart diseases (cardiomyopathies) and inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis) often affect young or middle-aged people and their course is very variable – from mild progression to sudden cardiac death or severe heart failure at a young age. Early and correct diagnosis is particularly important here in order to correctly identify affected patients and initiate the necessary treatment steps in good time.

Kardiovaskuläre Bildgebung München

Special focal points

  • High-resolution 64-line CT for coronary calcium screening and non-invasive visualisation of the coronary arteries to exclude significant narrowing (coronary stenosis)
  • Multiparametric MRI of the heart with functional analysis to detect and assess the severity of heart muscle inflammation (myocarditis) and to differentiate it from other heart muscle diseases
  • High-resolution non-invasive 3D imaging of the aorta and pulmonary circulation with CT and MRI
