Computed tomography uses X-ray technology to produce high-resolution cross-sectional images of the body. The tube rotates around the patient during the examination. As part of the image reconstruction, high-resolution sectional images can be calculated in any spatial direction. Our centre has 2 state-of-the-art multispiral devices (Siemens Somatom Definition AS 64 and Somatom go.Up 32) at its disposal.
Further developments in computer tomography offer new possibilities for more gentle and radiation-reduced diagnostics. Our two CT scanners are equipped with the latest digital dose reduction technology.
Compared to standard devices, dose savings of 50% are achieved in numerous areas of application with the usual high image quality – a particular advantage for younger patients and for frequent examinations (e.g. for tumour follow-up care).
